Who am l?
I am a professional artist,
originally from the United
Kingdom but now living and
working in the USA. I paint
primarily in oils though I also
work in acrylics, graphite and
pen and ink.
Mood and emotion feature
strongly in all my work, for in
this my voice and spirit speak
together. Art is beauty, love,
yearning, and hope, but it is
also about the darker
aspects of our shared
human experience. In my
work I endeavor to capture
both the light and the dark,
the rough and the smooth.
For in life nothing is black or
white, just shades of gray.
Thank you for taking time to
view my site. I wish you a
pleasurable and thought-
provoking stay.

"The Flower Girl " 18x24" Oil on Board $600
This is a painting of Katy our flower girl during our wedding on Halloween
2004. Notice that she carried her petals in a pumpkin basket. Katy was
supposed to walk along the aisle scattering petals along the way as is
custom. Strangely, as is often the case with young children, Katy had other
ideas.
As she walked own the aisle she threw no petals until she got to the end of
her walk. At that point she upended the pumpkin basket and dumped all the
petals on the floor.
Someone had the foresight to photograph Katy as she stared triumphantly at
the pile on the floor. I based this painting on that endearing photograph.
It went to prove the old TV adage never to script anything to prescriptively
when either young children or animals are involved.
