Who am l?
I am a professional artist,
originally from the United
Kingdom but now living and
working in the USA. I paint
primarily in oils though I also
work in acrylics, graphite and
pen and ink.
Mood and emotion feature
strongly in all my work, for in
this my voice and spirit speak
together. Art is beauty, love,
yearning, and hope, but it is
also about the darker
aspects of our shared
human experience. In my
work I endeavor to capture
both the light and the dark,
the rough and the smooth.
For in life nothing is black or
white, just shades of gray.
Thank you for taking time to
view my site. I wish you a
pleasurable and thought-
provoking stay.

"Scene Near Julian" 20x24" Oil on Canvas $600
During an excursion to San Diego, California in 2005 I happened upon a
rather striking scene near the picturesque little town called Julian. Julian a
beautiful place with many craft and curio shops had been ravaged by the
wildfires that had then been blighting California due to excessively dry
weather of 2004. In 2005 much of the landscape was marked by the charred
remains of trees, the result of those fires
This painting is a view across a lake towards a rather interesting hill. I was
captivated by the powerful masses of the clouds above the rather serene
landscape.
I have not been back to Julian since the fires of 2007, but I hope and pray that
Julian escaped the worst of the devastation.
